I'm looking forward to trying out for the Losal  soccer team during the summer. I'm so stoked to meet new girls. There will be a lot of competition. I'm also excited to laugh a lot, learn new skills, and be pushed out of my own comfort zone.  Soccer is an entirely different game in high school.  Instead of quarters, the games are played in halves. Also, we sub in and out a lot more often.   It's really fun once you understand how the game works and realize when it comes to sports in high school, it's really big competition.

My New Puppy

My New Puppy

I’m gonna tell you about my puppy CJ.

She’s very playful, playful like a baby. She’s pretty like a princess and sweet like a cupcake. She’s smart, she’s annoying and now she gets more attention than Cocoa.

It’s a mystery what she’s mixed with, but I love her anyway. I love my new Chihuahua!

The Geode

The Geode is a Treasure

The delicate geode

glitters inside with diamonds

prickly, sharp like a pencil.

The delicate geode

outside green, white

bumpy as a turtle’s shell.

The delicate geode

inside edge hard, smooth

icy like granite.

The delicate geode

searching for treasure

to make my family rich.

Making Life Difficult

Making Life Difficult

I love making life difficult for children.

Filled with words

really hard words

I love making life difficult for children.

I get harder and harder

challenge and review.

I love making life difficult for children.

See my meaning

spelling dictionary.

I love making life difficult for children.

Every morning

phonics, analogies, proof reading.

I love making life difficult for children.

Keep those brains working

I love making life difficult for children.

And I’m going to keep doing it!

Ow, Ow, Ouch!

Ow, Ow Ouch!

Mrs. Kostrzewa slowly grabs the coffee cup. It is a red, holiday cup. The cup is red and white, like Santa’s coat. She blows into the hole where she drinks from. She blows fast, slow, fast, slow. Mrs. Kostrzewa is blowing on her coffee so she doesn't burn her tongue. She does not know that the cap is loose. She spills hot coffee all over her white shirt. She yells and panics and says. ”Ow, ow ouch! It Burns!” Mrs. Kostrzewa’s face turns red and she has smoke coming out of her ears!

You Made It Grandpa!

I hug grandfather very gently, because he is in a lot of pain. I hug him gently, because he is moaning and crying at the same time. The doctor and nurse walk in and she suggests "say your good byes." I feel like screaming, fainting into a dark ocean of tears. I watch the bed with Grandpa in it go out the door and my heart feels like it is going to explode. My 14-year old kind of tough brother said, "don't be afraid. Megan, Matthew, do you guys need a hug?" We say yes and both of our tears go all over Will's jersey. It is sopping wet salty tears. I am waiting. I am shaking like I was cold. I wait in the hall to hear that my grandfather makes it. The operation is finally over. My Dad whispers to Will, "He made it!" Will whispers to me "He made it!" I whisper to Matt "He made it!" I want to scream my head off that he made it, but we just jump up and down instead.
